BRIEF HISTORY

In September 1989, PLT College started as PLT Computer and Technical Services. Barely nine months after, it was granted by the Department of Education Culture and Sports (DECS) permit to operate as a school and was named PLT Computer and Technical School.

The prime courses offered then were the Two-Year Management Information System Analysis and Design (MISAD, and the Computer Operations Specialist Course (COSC).

Gradually, the course offering widened to Two-Year Software Development Course (SDC-June 1991), One-Year Computer Repair and Maintenance (CRM-June 1991) and Two-Year Executive Computer Secretarial Course (October 1991). After a year, the school was granted by the DECS to operate as a college.

The College was duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in October 1991.

Started as a "one-room-all-in-one," PLT College has now developed to be one of the well-equipped Computer College in the region. It has now four buildings: the four-storey annex building which houses its modern equipment and facilities, chemistry, crime laboratory, computer laboratories, the library and Administration Office; the PLT College main building with a mini gymnasium located at the building's fourth floor; the Hotel and Restaurant Management building; and the Commerce Secretarial department building.

PLT College as an institution of learning directs to provide quality computer education aimed towards the services and growth of humanity in a progressing society with a commitment to and concern for academic excellence.

To justify its claim in this noble task of nation building, the College seeks to establish an effective system of education and to reach out to the local educational needs of the people within their own socio-cultural background and environs.
